About Me

Hey, I'm Brody! I'm 24 years old from Orillia Ontario, and I love racing bikes.  For the last decade I have been travelling across the world riding and racing my bike in my pursuit of becoming a professional athlete.  During that time I started at the amateur level racing for a local youth cycling club, then with the Team Ontario, and then into Cycling Canada where I've competed in 19 World Cups and 4 World Championships between Cross Country Olympic (XC) and Cyclocross Racing (CX).  However over the last few years I've been drawn more and more towards the endurance racing side of the sport, swapping my 1-1.5hr CX and XC events for 4-8hr Gravel and XC Marathon events.  (Something that I would have never believed as a teenager).

In all my time racing I've never quite moved on from the Semi-Pro or as it's called in cycling a "Privateer".  I've always been able to get to the races thanks to the support and partners that I have, but I have never been fully 100% dedicated to being an athlete.  I have always had the interesting balancing act of working enough to pay the bills, while trying to not let it affect my training and racing.  Which is something I have always struggled with.

For 2024 I wanted to find a way to share my experiences of trying to turn "pro" where being an athlete not only pays enough to cover racing expenses but also covers everything else in my life as well! So after each event I'm going to out up a Youtube Vlog as well as Blog post on this webpage explaining not only how the race went, but also everything surrounding the event went as well! Sometimes things will go smoothly, and others it might feel like I'm in the metaphorical trenches.  But That's what this page is for!

So please check in every couple weeks to see how my season is going!

Frequently Asked Questions

What bikes do you ride?

My two primary bikes are a Cannondale Scalpel that I use for XC Marathon Events, and a Cannondale SuperSix SE for Gravel Events

What is your favourite Trail

Locally my favourite trail would have to be either Bottle Rocket at the Heights of Horseshoe or The Wall DH in the Copeland Forest.

Otherwise, Middle Black/Lower Black or in Brevard NC would be my favourite trail.
